Gurleen Kaur is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Kaur is an Oncology Certified Registered Nurse with over two years of clinical experience providing specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. In her role as an oncology nurse, she has developed expertise in managing complex patient needs, offering medical and emotional support to patients and their families through various stages of cancer care.

Kaur earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Post University and is currently enrolled in the Nurse Faculty Residency Program at UC Davis, where she is pursuing her passion for education, teaching, learning, and mentoring future nurses. Additionally, she is working toward her Master of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Sonoma State University, expanding her scope of practice to provide comprehensive care to patients across the lifespan. Kaur’s clinical and research interests include mental health, dermatology, oncology, primary care, and integrative medicine. She is dedicated to offering patient-centered, holistic care that integrates traditional medical practices with complementary approaches, focusing on overall well-being.


Heather Michelle Foley, R.N., P.M.H.-B.C.Heather Michelle Foley, R.N., P.M.H.-B.C.

Heather M. Foley is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Foley completed her psychiatric nursing residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, and has taught as a psychiatric nursing clinical instructor at Boston College. She is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Registered Nurse and has worked in the Division of Psychotic Disorders at McLean Hospital, the flagship psychiatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Foley worked as an ER and ICU Nurse Case Manager.

Foley earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and is a Member of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. Foley also earned her bachelor’s degree in public health from Simmons College. Prior to becoming a registered nurse, Foley worked at the Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She earned her Master of Liberal Arts degree in Extension Studies at Harvard University, concentrating in the History of Science, Technology and Medicine. Additionally, she is working toward her Master of Science in Nursing with Nursing Education degree at Arizona State University. Foley’s nursing clinical and research interests include pediatric psychiatry, mental health and population health.


Hien Ho, M.P.H., R.N., P.H.N.Hien Ho, M.P.H., R.N., P.H.N.

Thanh-Hien "Hien" Ho is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Ho graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Over the last several years, they have worked in different areas of healthcare, including inpatient, outpatient, and public health settings. As a caregiver for a disabled family member, Ho prioritizes holistic care and is an advocate for patient and family empowerment, resource and skills acquisition and accessible care services.

As a registered nurse, Ho has experience supporting COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts, caring for post-operative patients in inpatient settings, and staffing community events as a medical volunteer for the Sacramento Medical Reserve Corps. Ho’s love for the community is their motivating factor to promote and improve community capacity through outreach efforts, education and being a reliable partner in health.
