Sep. 13: 2024 Physician Assistant (PA) Oath Celebration
The PA Class of 2024 concludes the 27-month graduate-degree program and marks the transition into practice with the recitation of the Physician Assistant Oath.
Sep. 14: Breaking Down Barriers: A Pre-Nursing Conference
Representatives from the school’s Master’s Entry Program in Nursing will be at this event promoting the nursing profession in Black and Latinx communities. The event is hosted by the Capitol City Black Nurses Association, the Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, the Philippine Nurses Association California Capitol City and the Hmong Nurses Association Sacramento Chapter.

Online applications open for fall 2025 enrollment in the Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Doctor of Philosophy Degree and the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner degree programs through the Office of Graduate Studies. Learn more
Sep. 23-24: Orientation for Doctor of Philosophy Program
Incoming Doctor of Philosophy students participate in an intensive, two-day orientation to build the foundation of relationships with fellow students and faculty.
Sep. 26: First day of fall quarter
Sep. 26-30: Immersion A for the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner Program
Students in the Doctor or Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) Degree Program participate in an intensive, five-day on-campus immersion. This immersion experience, course NRS 305YA, exposes them to underserved populations and the challenges faced by these individuals and families. Throughout the experience, students continue to build on the foundation of relationships with fellow students and faculty, in addition to participating in class sessions.

Nov. 18-21: Immersion B for the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner Program
Students in the Doctor or Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) Degree Program participate in an intensive, on-campus immersion. It culminates with a White Coat Ceremony.
Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving break
The School of Nursing is closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Dec. 13: Master’s Entry Program in Nursing Pinning Ceremony
The completion of coursework and final exams is marked with a virtual pinning ceremony.

Faculty from across campus with expertise in nursing, medicine, health informatics, nutrition, biostatistics, public health and other fields conduct their biannual meeting to discuss admissions, curriculum, program development and more related to leading the interprofessional graduate group.

July 8-19: Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators Convocation 2024
The Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators leads its annual Convocation. The program’s cornerstone event focuses on building community among the cohorts and fostering connection among fellows, faculty, the national program office and the Fellowship National Advisory Council. Fellows explore contemporary issues in health care and population health and participate in structured learning activities focused on leadership, innovation and networking.
