Accreditation, state authorization and disclosures
Doctor of Philosophy
The University of California, Davis, is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education and the U.S. Department of Education. UC Davis WASC accreditation was reaffirmed in June 2014 and remains in effect until June 2024. The Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Doctor of Philosophy Degree Program is accredited through the university’s review by the WASC. UC Davis Graduate Studies also conducts program reviews to determine alignment with accreditation standards. The Graduate Studies program review was completed in fall 2016 and the Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Graduate Group received a favorable outcome for the maximum of seven years, with the next program review scheduled in fall 2023.
M.H.S. — Physician Assistant Studies
The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the University of California - Davis Physician Assistant Program sponsored by University of California - Davis. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2027. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

M.S. — Leadership and Family Nurse Practitioner
The Master of Science Degree Program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K St. N.W., Suite 750, Washington, D.C., 20001 or (202) 887-6791.
M.S.N. — Master's Entry Program in Nursing
The Master's Entry Program in Nursing (Master of Science in Nursing Degree Program) at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
The Master of Science in Nursing Degree Program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K St. N.W., Suite 750, Washington, D.C., 20001 or (202) 887-6791.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by CCNE will be October 2032. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and CCNE policy.

Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner
The Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) degree program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and will seek initial accreditation review by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington DC 20001, 202-887-6791, for the inaugural class that enrolled in summer 2022. Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted. The BRN and CCNE site visit is scheduled for October 2024.
In accordance with CCNE’s procedures, the Commission provides the opportunity for program constituents and other interested parties to submit, in writing, third-party comments concerning a program’s qualifications for accreditation. The School of Nursing will host a team of reviewers from CCNE from October 21, 2024 – October 23, 2024, as a part of the process of our initial accreditation review. Written third-party comments regarding programs must be received by CCNE by no later than 21 days prior to the first day of the scheduled on-site evaluation.

Doctor of Nursing Practice — Nurse Anesthesia
The proposed Doctor of Nursing Practice — Nurse Anesthesia (DNP – Nurse Anesthesia) degree program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis is seeking approval for initial accreditation from the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs for the inaugural class to be enrolled, pending final approval, in June of 2025. The COA site visit is scheduled for October 2024.
