Doctorally prepared family nurse practitioner faculty
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis seeks innovative and highly motivated doctorally prepared family nurse practitioner faculty to join the school as instructor of record for the hybrid Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner Degree Program. This is a new, hybrid (online and immersive) degree program. These faculty provide online instruction and are also required to be onsite in Sacramento, California, on up to three occasions per year for a period of seven days on each occasion.
Up to two full-time, non-tenured positions at the Assistant and Associate rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) Series are available at UC Davis Health, which is located on a modern, 140-acre campus in Sacramento. The Sacramento campus is home to the School of Nursing, School of Medicine, UC Davis Medical Center (including a level I trauma center and burn unit, and a full range of outpatient services), a fully accredited Children’s Hospital, and an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Teaching responsibilities
Responsibilities include working in collaboration with the program director and program faculty to ensure quality program curriculum and instruction in the didactic and clinical phases of the program. Duties include course management, teaching, skills and simulation labs, student advisement, and student formative and summative evaluation. Responsibilities may also include participation in clinical site visits, scholarly project committee work, student remediation, test writing and analysis, program admissions, accreditation processes and program assessment to include serving on committees essential to the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner program and school’s functioning.

Qualifications
Required at time of application
A doctoral degree (D.N.P., Ph.D., Ed.D.) is required
The candidate must meet the following basic qualifications:
- Certified advanced practice registered nurse with a specialty as a family nurse practitioner
- Current California registered nurse license
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification
- Minimum three years advanced clinical practice experience
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
- A record of proficiency in academic or clinical education
- Exceptional communication skills, including an ability to work effectively within a team that is comprised of multiple stakeholders from diverse backgrounds such as interprofessional colleagues, practice colleagues, faculty, senior leadership, staff, and students
- Demonstrated ability to provide support, advocacy and mentorship to students and faculty
- Demonstrated advocate for change and innovation
- Willingness to share knowledge and expertise in their subject area
- Experience with or understanding of online educational learning and teaching including use of learning technologies
- Demonstrated experience in learning management systems
Preferred qualifications
- Content expertise in organizational and system change through leadership, research and evidence- based practice
- Content expertise in nursing leadership business operations or administration
- Experience with oversight of advanced practice clinical rotations
- Understanding of concept-based curriculum
- One-year, full-time direct patient care experience as a registered nurse or one academic year of registered nurse clinical teaching within the last five years.
