Jakkarin Sareerak, D.N.P., C.R.N.A., C.H.S.E.
Director for the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Nurse Anesthesia Degree Program
Jakkarin Sareerak is the Director of the DNP-Nurse Anesthesia Program at Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. With over a decade of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Sareerak brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to clinical, academic and leadership roles. He has made significant contributions to anesthesia care, education and research, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in nursing and anesthesia practice.
Sareerak started his nursing career as a registered nurse in various intensive care units from 2006 to 2009. After completing his nurse anesthesia degree in 2012, he worked in an underserved community in Central Valley for five years before joining the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group East Bay. Prior to joining UC Davis, he worked as an assistant professor and simulation educator at the Program of Nurse Anesthesia at Samuel Merritt University.
Sareerak is actively involved in professional organizations and has a keen interest in simulation training for nurse anesthesia education, emphasizing his dedication to the continuous improvement of nurse anesthesia education and practice. He currently serves on the education committee and faculty stabilization advisory board of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA).
Sareerak holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a concentration in advanced practice leadership from Chamberlain College of Nursing, a Master of Science in nurse anesthesia from Samuel Merritt University, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University at Los Angeles, as well as an Associate Science degree in nursing from Los Angeles County College of Nursing. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in nursing education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Sareerak's goal is to elevate the DNP-Nurse Anesthesia Program at UC Davis by fostering a culture of academic excellence, cultivating future leaders in nurse anesthesia, and promoting diversity in nursing anesthesia practice. His vision is to prepare highly skilled, compassionate nurse anesthetists who are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of modern healthcare, particularly in underserved communities.
