Brittany Stagg, M.S.N., F.N.P.-C.
Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor
Brittany Stagg is an alumna and faculty member at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. As a clinician educator, Stagg provides care to older adults at the Healthy Aging Clinic and supports students in both classroom and clinical settings. She is passionate about building trusting relationships and empowering patients with the knowledge and tools to maintain their independence and quality of life as they age.
Stagg’s passion for geriatric care was sparked by her close relationship with her grandfather, whose strength, resilience and humor during serious illness deeply shaped her perspective on aging and caregiving. Combined with nearly a decade of inpatient nursing experience across diverse medical-surgical and step-down units, this background laid the foundation for her dedication to supporting older adults as they navigate complex health needs. Stagg believes that strong relationships and education are key to helping patients and caregivers confidently manage their health journeys. She finds joy in mentoring students as they bridge classroom learning and hands-on clinical practice and strives to create a supportive environment that emphasizes critical thinking, cultural humility and human connection, especially when caring for vulnerable populations.
Before joining the faculty at UC Davis, Stagg worked as a float nurse at the UC Davis Medical Center, gaining experience in medical-surgical, telemetry and progressive care units. She later practiced as a family nurse practitioner, providing home-based primary care to older adults in the Sacramento region.
Stagg earned her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Sacramento. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE). Through her clinical work, teaching and ongoing professional engagement, Stagg remains deeply committed to improving outcomes for older adults and shaping the next generation of nurse leaders.
