Brent Luu, Pharm.D., B.C.P.S., B.C.A.C.P.
Associate Clinical Professor
Brent Luu is an associate clinical professor for the Master of Science — Nurse Practitioner and Master of Health Sciences —Physician Assistant Studies degree programs at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. He teaches the pharmacology series courses. With more than a decade of pharmacy practice and management, Luu brings to the school extensive experiences from various pharmacy practice settings, including acute care, ambulatory care, oncology and home infusion.
Prior to teaching, Luu was a clinical pharmacist practitioner for Kaiser Permanente, a Wal-Mart Pharmacy Manager and a co-owner of a West Sacramento independent pharmacy.
Luu’s focus is on patient care and medication safety. As an educator, Luu hopes to prepare students to optimize pharmacotherapy outcomes while minimizing adverse drug events as well as improve patient and medication safety. His clinical interests include pain management, neurology and chronic disease management.
Luu earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University in 1995. He earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy in 2000. More recently, Luu has earned both the board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist and the ambulatory care pharmacist.
