About us
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis cultivates academic excellence and prepares graduates to drive meaningful change in health care. With a vision of optimal health and health equity for all, the school leads innovative research, education and practice and prepares leaders who advance health, transform health care and ignite bold system change locally, nationally and globally. Five core attributes allow students, faculty, staff and graduates to innovate in clinical practice and health policy, they include community connection, inclusive excellence, leadership, innovative solutions and collaboration.
As one of the only graduate nursing schools committed to activating change where it’s needed the most, faculty go beyond clinical education with programs that provide graduates with the skills, confidence and vision to be change agents on many levels and with many different titles. Students benefit from an interdisciplinary approach to research and education from faculty with a wide range of backgrounds including nursing, sociology, gerontology, medicine, information technology and psychology.
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis was established in March 2009 through a $100 million commitment from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Together, we work toward a future where health and well-being are open, accessible and equitable.
