Clinical Pastoral Education

CPE Academic Program

Since 1986, the University of California, Davis has sponsored and administered an accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Center through UC Davis Health in Sacramento. This academic institution is invested in training professionals to provide spiritual care that meets all the needs of those seeking and those providing healthcare. Our CPE program is one of the institution’s modes of addressing the diverse spiritual care needs of those we serve. All CPE students receive clinical assignments and participate in providing extensive and intensive spiritual care needs within the context of our Level 1 academic health system.

Our CPE Center is accredited to offer Level IA, 1B IIA, Level IIB, and Certified Educator CPE.

This following chart indicates our educational goal for each CPE Unit.
