Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is an interfaith professional education for ministry and personal development. CPE prepares one to serve as a spiritual care provider in many contexts. Although there are several CPE programs. ACPE is the Standard for Spiritual Care and Education.

Our CPE training (Level I, Level II, and certified educator CPE) provides extensive and intensive work-learn education experiences. The action-reflection-action model of education focuses on individual and small group formation as a spiritual care provider, provides opportunities for skill development, and creates space for reflection on one’s experiences and integration of concepts and experiences.

We work with ACPE to provide the necessary J1 visa documents for international students we accept into our Yearlong Residency CPE Program.

Our CPE:

  • Offers chaplaincy and spiritual care training for seminarians whose faith groups require one CPE unit.
  • Provides training for those looking to serve in the military, prison, hospital settings, hospice and home health care, and homeless care as professional chaplains.
  • Provides continuous education for congregational leaders needing skills development in caring for people or doing specialized ministry.
  • Provides training opportunities for other professionals seeking personal growth development or seeking interprofessional training with spiritual care.
