How to Apply | Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology Doctoral Internship | UC Davis Health Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

Our internship is a full-time, one year position. Successful applicants will have interest and experience in clinical child and adolescent psychology, with a strong foundation in conducting clinical intakes/interviewing, therapy, and assessment. In addition, successful applicants will have interest serving diverse children, adolescents, and families (e.g., age, ethnicity, race, culture, religion, immigration status, sexuality, gender identity, ability, etc.)

It is our goal to recruit and retain interested and skilled interns and advance them toward licensure and their early careers. We have the ability to provide a combined two-year, internship and fellowship training sequence. Interns who are interested in applying for our fellowship will need to follow the application procedures detailed on APPIC (UPPD) and on our website.

Interested applicants must submit their applications using the APPIC Application for Psychology Internships (AAPI) by the advertised deadline. Early submission is recommended, and applications are reviewed as they are received.

Additionally, our program values the many benefits a diverse workforce offers. Applicants who are bilingual in English and Spanish, are from historically minoritized and/or underrepresented groups, and/or identify as allies to the pursuit of racial and social justice are strongly encouraged to apply.

Prospective interns are also encouraged to review training materials and opportunities afforded by our postdoctoral fellowship program at the time of their application.

Prospective candidates will be notified via email whether or not they will be granted a virtual interview (via Zoom) with the training director and supervisors.

Accreditation Status

The UC Davis Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (CCAP) Doctoral Internship Program is currently a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers) APPIC and was awarded full accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA). The next APA review period will take place in 2024. Questions related to the program’s accredited status should be directed to the Commission on Accreditation
