Abhijit Chaudhari is a Professor in the Department of Radiology and a Core Scientist with the California National Primate Research Center. He also directs the UC Davis Center for Molecular and Genomic Imaging. His research focuses on developing imaging approaches for assessing disorders of the musculoskeletal and neurological systems, with contributions to advancing medical imaging instrumentation, acquisition, and image and data processing. He has overseen the Center's day-to-day operations since September 2023.

Associate Director, Imaging Research Center
Assistant Professor of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering
apfan@ucdavis.edu
Audrey Fan is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering and an imaging physicist. She currently co-leads the Imaging Core for the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at UC Davis Health. At the IRC, her goal is to bridge engineers, clinicians, and scientists to advance neuroimaging technology and promote brain health across the human lifespan.

Technical Director, Imaging Research Center
Professor of Radiology
yojung@ucdavis.edu
Youngkyoo Jung is a Professor in the Department of Radiology and a board-certified medical physicist with the American Board of Radiology (Diagnostic Medical Physics) and the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (Magnetic Resonance Safety Expert). His academic work has primarily centered on developing novel structural and functional neuroimaging techniques. At the Imaging Research Center (IRC), his objective is to ensure the quality of MRI studies and to resolve technical issues for IRC users.

Associate Director, Imaging Research Center
Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
cnordahl@ucdavis.edu
Christine Wu Nordahl, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the UC Davis MIND Institute. Her research program uses structural and functional MRI to study brain development in autism across the lifespan. Since 2006, she has spearheaded neuroimaging efforts of the UC Davis MIND Institute Autism Phenome Project, a longitudinal, interdisciplinary study aimed at identifying clinically meaningful subtypes of autism. She uses innovative methods to obtain MRI scans of infants and toddlers during natural sleep. She is also committed to increasing the inclusion of autistic individuals with intellectual disabilities in neuroimaging research.

Chief MRI Technologist
MR Safety Officer
916-734-6577
jmwallis@ucdavis.edu
James Wallis, the IRC MRI Specialist, supervises daily operations on all MR systems. He schedules and coordinates MRI system time for research projects and provides intensive one-on-one training and daily oversight to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty who operate the MRI system and associated stimulus-presentation and physiological-monitoring equipment. He reports image quality problems directly to Siemens, the IRC Technical Director, and the project PIs.
He is responsible for MRI Safety and MRI Operator training.

Systems Administrator
916-734-4595
scomartin@ucdavis.edu
Scott Martin, the IRC Systems Administrator, is responsible for the operation of all IRC computers, including those used for stimulus presentation during fMRI scans, eye-tracking, and physiological monitoring, as well as image archival, retrieval, and processing. He maintains the server infrastructure required for imaging data storage, backup, and analysis. He also trains graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty in the methods necessary to handle data output and provides troubleshooting expertise for any computer-related technical difficulties. He created and maintains the IRC Calendar web application for scheduling scanners and tracking billing, and runs several other websites for labs, faculty members, and research projects.

Programmer
916-734-7731
dmthompson@ucdavis.edu
Dennis Thompson, the IRC Programmer, is responsible for helping researchers design and code scripts for data collection and analysis. He also maintains much of the auxiliary equipment used by the IRC and provides training in its use. Dennis also designs and builds custom hardware for use in the scanner.

Chief Administrative Officer
916-734-4528
myono@health.ucdavis.edu
Michele serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Imaging Research Center and the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence, providing overall management of administrative, strategic, and financial planning, human resources, pre- and post-award research management, and logistics for both centers.

Assistant Project Scientist
bahobson@ucdavis.edu
Joint appointment between the Imaging Research Center and the Center for Molecular and Genomic Imaging.

Senior Research Associate
slhuddleston@ucdavis.edu
Joint appointment between the Imaging Research Center and the Center for Molecular and Genomic Imaging.
The Executive Advisory Committee of the Imaging Research Center advises the Director. Committee members are senior members of the broader UC Davis community who depend on IRC resources and provide important feedback to the Director on the Center's operations, as well as advise on management and development issues. At Committee meetings, the IRC Director overviews IRC activities, operational changes, and plans for the IRC's maintenance and growth. The advisory committee members serve as critical partners for the Center Director in IRC maintenance and development. Importantly, members of this Committee represent all the major imaging constituencies at our Institution.
