About Us | Imaging Research Center | UC Davis Health

About Us

The Imaging Research Center (IRC) was established at the University of California, Davis, to support MRI research and promote the use of modern MRI-based methods in basic science and clinical investigations of the brain and body.

The IRC is a campus-designated core facility dedicated to serving the entire UC Davis campus, and on a space- and time-available basis, other universities and industry. The IRC oversees and operates MRI systems at two locations: the first at the IRC facility at the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, and the second at the MRI facility for Integrative Neurosciences in Davis.

Vision

Our goal is to improve human health and the quality of life by advancing knowledge through imaging studies of the brain and body.

Mission

  • Support imaging research that investigates the structure and function of the brain and body in health and disease.
  • Promote the development of state-of-the-art MRI techniques and analysis methods.
  • Provide multidisciplinary training to the next generation of imaging research scientists.
  • Catalyze translational research to improve human health.
