    Debbie Lupeika, MD, FAAFP

    Director

    Lupeika is a Clinical Professor and the Associate Dean of Rural and Community-based Education at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine. Lupeika is a board-certified family medicine physician, practicing at Rolling Hills Tribal clinic in Red Bluff, California, and works with the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians. She is a national consultant for Residency Program Solutions (RPS) for the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Her advocacy roles include serving as District 11 Vice Chair of the California Medical Association and as an Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA).

    Lupeika completed an Integrative Medicine Fellowship at the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center in 2025 and is now board-eligible. She is the former Program Director for Shasta Community Health Center Family Medicine Residency Program. She completed a Primary Care Psychiatry Fellowship at UC Irvine in 2020 and a National Institute of Program Director Development (NIPDD) Fellowship in 2013. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at the Mercy Family Medicine Residency Program in Redding, California, in 2001, and her medical training at Chicago Medical School in 1998.

    Thomas brings nearly 20 years of commitment and dedication to California state service with an administrative background in human resources and trauma surgery. She now oversees the day-to-day functions of the UC Davis Family Medicine Residency Network.
