Emanuel Maverakis and his research team pursue a broad range of clinical and translational research interests, including immunotherapies for melanoma, T-cell-mediated skin diseases and murine models of autoimmunity. His work is supported by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
His research has been published in leading journals, including The Journal of Experimental Medicine, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and The Journal of Clinical Investigation.
Clinically, Maverakis specializes in the care of patients with severe immune-mediated systemic diseases affecting the skin.
