UC Davis Dermatology Visiting Student Scholarship
Award Provides $2,000 for Clerkship Expenses
The UC Davis Dermatology Residency Program offers a Visiting Student Scholarship to support students who require financial assistance to participate in the Dermatology Clerkship Course (DER 460).
Each year, our program awards up to two scholarships of $2,000 to help offset travel and/or housing expenses associated with the clerkship.
Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship program, applicants must:
- Be a medical student in good standing who is entering their 4th year in July 2026
- Have applied to and been offered a UC Davis Dermatology rotation through the Association of American Medical Colleges Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO®) program
- Demonstrate a commitment to cultivating a welcoming and inclusive community within our residency program that values everyone’s unique contributions and strives to improve health outcomes for all patient populations
Scholarship Application Process
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is June 1, 2026.
How to Apply
- Apply to the UC Davis Dermatology Clerkship DER 460 through the VSLO® website.
- Write a statement (maximum 250 words) describing how your background and experiences can help promote a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone’s unique contributions are valued and efforts are made to improve health outcomes for all patient populations.
- Obtain a letter of recommendation from a medical school faculty member (this may be a provider from any medical specialty).
- Email your statement and letter of recommendation to Christina Roland, education programs manager and residency coordinator, at cmroland@health.ucdavis.edu.
