Stanford Accelerated Intelligent Neuromodulation Therapy

What is SAINT?
Stanford Accelerated Intelligent Neuromodulation Therapy, or SAINT, is a personalized intensive treatment that uses targeted transcranial magnetic stimulation to help improve major depression.

What can I expect in treatment?
Your care team will order an MRI of your brain to determine your ideal treatment area. Treatment sessions are then held ten times a day for five days. You will spend ten hours in or near the clinic for 5 days (M-F), receiving a nine-minute treatment once an hour.

Is it safe?
Yes, it is safe. The most commonly reported side effects are mild headache and temporary scalp irritation at the treatment site. Your care team will assist you in resolving any discomfort experienced during your treatment.
