Early Psychosis Programs

Early Psychosis Clinic

The early psychosis clinic is divided into two programs, EDAPT and SacEDAPT. While the service and care provided are the same for both programs, they are separated by age and type of insurance accepted.

Eligibility

To be eligible for either program, individual must be experiencing symptoms of early psychosis, including:

  • Onset of psychotic symptoms in the past year
  • Sub-threshold symptoms of psychosis
  • Recent deterioration in youth with a parent or sibling with a psychotic disorder
EDAPT
  • Ages 12-40
  • Insurance accepted by UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences or self-pay
SacEDAPT
  • Ages 12-30
  • Sacramento County residents who are Medi-Cal eligible or uninsured
  • The SacEDAPT program is funded by Sacramento County

Appointments and Referrals

For Patients

Mental and behavioral health services require a referral from your primary care provider. Please contact your primary care provider to request one. Once you have a referral, have the following information ready when scheduling an appointment for yourself or a loved one:

  • Your (or your dependent’s) insurance card and/or eligibility information
  • A list of current medications you or your loved one are taking
  • A method of payment for your insurance co-payment, if applicable
  • Any updates to your address, employment, or insurance coverage, if applicable

For Referring Physicians

To refer a patient to us, please submit an Electronic Referral Intake Form. If you have questions, our referral specialists are available to help connect your patient with the appropriate UC Davis mental health provider and services. You may also visit our Physician and Transfer Referral Center for help.
