Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship
How to Apply
Applications are being accepted now for the 2024-2025 fellowship year. We encourage applicants to submit application materials as soon as possible.
To be eligible for entry into the forensic residency training program, the applicant must have completed a four-year ACGME accredited training program in general psychiatry or an approved program that combines general and child and adolescent psychiatry.
Applicants selected for the program must have a valid California medical license prior to beginning training.
The application process requires the following:
- A completed application
- A personal statement of one to two pages in length
- Three letters of recommendation -
- One of these letters should be from the Dean of Student Affairs of your medical school
- One from your current training director and one from a psychiatrist familiar with your work who should comment on past performance and professional integrity
- A copy of your medical school transcript and diploma
- Two general writing samples - These writing samples may include forensic reports or evaluations, authored articles, papers, or patient evaluations/discharge summaries.
- A copy of your current medical license
- A curriculum vitae
