Addressing Professionalism Lapses with Learners

The goal of this course is to provide program directors and other faculty with methods to best support residents and fellows experiencing challenges in communication and/or professionalism. Utilizing elements of motivational interviewing and SMART goals the course introduces a coaching conversation structure that can help the program director and trainee constructively consider feedback together.

Conflict of Commitment, Outside Professional Activities, and Conflicts of Interest in Research

In preparation for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Outside Professional Activities Annual Reporting, the Office of Academic Personnel and Office of Research are presenting an in-depth overview on policy and reporting requirements. This training is an in-depth overview of the Conflict of Commitment and Outside Professional Activities policies for faculty in the Health Sciences Comp Plan. The training will also be covering Conflict of Interest in research, regulatory and reporting requirements.

Faculty who attend this training will have a comprehensive understanding of the following:

  • Academic Personnel Manual 671 and 025
  • Threshold limits for time and income
  • Management of reporting obligations
  • Reporting requirements for research

How to Run a Well Team

This live workshop offers team strategies to impact the culture of wellness, individual resiliency, and clinical care by running a "well" team. Participants will be provided with strategies that support the well-being and professional development of the team members with the ultimate goal of supporting the flourishing of clinical teams through a combination of didactics and interactive case studies.

Outside Activity Tracking System (OATS) Training

The UC Outside Activity Tracking System (OATS) is a web-based application through which all University of California faculty must report outside activities and income, in accordance with UC conflict of commitment policies. This virtual training is a hands-on overview of the OATS system.

After completing this training participants will be able to:

  • Complete the Annual Outside Professional Activities reporting in OATS
  • Submit requests for Category 1 approval
  • Track time and income limits
  • Manage outside activities and income in OATS
  • Easily check the status of reports and requests in OATS

This training provides a comprehensive overview of the Faculty Compensation Plan for UC Davis Health. This training will cover who is eligible to participate and specifics on how faculty are compensated including APUs, scales and the different salary components.

Stress Management and Resiliency Training for Healthcare Professionals (SMART)

This 8-session evidence-based program was developed at Massachusetts General Hospital and will help you build self-care practices to reduces stress, regain a sense of control, and enhance your quality of life.

Communication and Optimal Resolution (CANDOR)

This series will consist of two asynchronous modules. The first will serve as a refresher for all physicians and staff about the CANDOR program, and the second will serve as a just-in-time reminder to physicians and staff when a sentinel event occurs.
