Dissemination Resources, Classes, and Templates

The Center for Nursing Science offers a variety of classes, resources, and services to support your professional and scholarly work. These are available by request and are also scheduled as part of the preparation for the annual Nursing Science and Professional Governance Conference. Abstract Writing

Interested in submitting a poster or podium presentation at a professional meeting?

Assistance is available from the Center for Nursing Science staff and/or EBP & Research Council members with guidance and real-time editing support for abstract development. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome.

Please make sure that you reach out for an appointment with sufficient time ahead of the abstract deadline.

Poster Presentation

Are you presenting a poster at a conference or professional meeting? Center for Nursing Science staff and/or EBP & Research Council members offer guidance, resources and real-time editing support for poster development. Topics include:

  • Learn to develop a visually appealing and informative poster presentation
  • Identify approaches to display information in a clear and concise manner
  • Find helpful tools and resources

Resources Available:

Poster Printing for Patient Care Services

  • Poster printing is available via Canterbury Media Services, Inc. This service does NOT include editing nor review for quality, content, format, or accuracy. Please be sure to proofread and review prior to submission.
  • On the Canterbury website, you may choose from different options such as poster size and material (fabric, photo paper, etc).
  • Confirm with your manager prior to submission. Once submitted, approval for printing is completed before the order is processed.

Individuals outside of Nursing should arrange for printing via https://www.posterpresentations.com/ or through the UC Davis Repro Graphics site AggiePrint.

Podium Presentation

Disseminate your work in an oral podium presentation – whether it is a traditional PowerPoint or you want to spice it up with a fast-paced Ignite! session, we have resources aimed to help you. Topics include:

  • Discover formats to present information
  • Learn tips for success in formatting and designing your visual aids to inform your oral presentation
  • Find helpful tools and resources

Resources Available:

Manuscripts and Publication

The Center for Nursing Science offers assistance for nurses interested in manuscript writing and publishing.

We offer a workshop series designed to help nurses turn completed research or evidence-based practice projects into publishable manuscripts.

  • Open-to nurse-led or nurse-involved projects that have reached the analysis or outcome phase and have been presented or accepted at an external conference.
  • Meets quarterly over one year in a workshop format and as needed one-on-one to provide knowledge, skills, mentorship, structure, and peer support through the writing and publication process.
