Gandara
honored for lung research
David
Gandara, professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology,
received the 1998 Joan Oettinger Memorial Award recognizing outstanding
lung research.
Gandara
chairs the Lung Committee for the Southwest Oncology Group and the
National Cancer Institute's Correlative Sciences Review Committee
in Lung Cancer, is a member of the National Cancer Institute's Cancer
Clinical Investigations Review Committee, and was a recent visiting
professor at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston on Molecular-Clinical
Correlates in Lung Cancer Studies.
