Philosophy of Care

Dr. Overstreet believes in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship coupled with evidence-based treatment, and she has seen first-hand how dialectical behavior therapy can change - and even save - lives. Her goal is to work with both adolescents and their families to make lasting changes that result in fewer hospitalizations, improved family relationships, and the development of a life-worth-living. Dr. Overstreet helps her patients develop healthy coping skills, balance acceptance and change, and live according to their values. In her free time, Dr. Overstreet enjoys singing in choir, reading, baking, and spending time with her cat, Dobby.

Clinical Interests
