I believe in offering comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. This care often includes the patient's "team" of family, or friends, or caregivers. My goal is to empower my patients with a clear diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan.
Dr. Bissig is an adult neurologist. He offers care to all adult patients with neurological conditions, but has a special interest and expertise in cognitive neurology, which includes conditions like Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer's Disease, Vascular Dementia, Parkinson's Dementia, Lewy Body Dementia, Progressive Aphasia, and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
Dr. Bissig is interested in identifying those at high risk for cognitive impairment -- and eligible for early clinical intervention or participation in research -- by expanding clinic-based and hospital-based screening for impaired thinking and memory. In a separate body of research, he studies age-related changes in the eye, and how these changes are influenced by neurodegenerative diseases.
