Message From the Associate Dean of Admissions | UC Davis School of Medicine

Welcome to the UC Davis School of Medicine Admissions. As Associate Dean for Admissions, I want to share a few thoughts about our medical school and community.

UC Davis School of Medicine is a very special place — distinguished by a longstanding commitment to improving the health of our community. Sacramento is a diverse and culturally rich community, which also boasts a vibrant local arts, food and sports scene.

 Our school offers many unique clinical and outreach experiences, including eight student-run clinics, five additional partner clinics, the HEALTH Equity Academy, and several international rotations. Research opportunities span leading programs and centers such as the MIND Institute (focused on neurodevelopmental disorders including autism), the Center for Reducing Health Disparities, and the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Center.

In addition to the traditional M.D. program, we offer several focused pathways and dual-degree programs, including ACE-PC and Rural ACE-PCP, Tribal Health PRIME, Rural-PRIME, REACH-PRIME, TEACH-MS, PRIME Central Coast, the Master of Public Health program, and the Physician Scientist Training Program (M.D./Ph.D.).

Our greatest asset is our student body — a group of exceptional individuals with a deep commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning, teamwork, and the highest professional standards. Equipped with these skills, UC Davis School of Medicine students learn to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our patients under the watchful eye of talented, inspiring, and uniquely approachable faculty.
