Elentra Training
Elentra is the standard LMS (and curriculum mapping tool) used for all core School of Medicine courses. The following videos provide an orientation to this tool from a faculty member’s perspective.

Panopto Training
Panopto, integrated within Elentra, is the School of Medicine’s video distribution platform. All videos, pre-recorded lectures, and session recordings should be uploaded to a course’s Panopto Recordings area. You can also add interactive elements to uploaded videos, such as questions, to increase student engagement and retention of knowledge. The following videos provide an orientation to this tool from a faculty member’s perspective.

Request A Course Consultation
As experienced educators, we know that teaching is hard work and does not always come easily. We are therefore offering an Office of Medical Education course consultation service for interested faculty who have identified areas of need and would benefit from additional support.
This link allows you to set up a consultation appointment with our Instructional Designer/Educational Technologist, Dan Comins, who will be happy to meet with you or forward your request to appropriate individuals within the Office of Medical Education regarding your request.

The M.D. curriculum is driven by the Graduation Competencies. These educational program objectives are the competencies the UC Davis School of Medicine expects of graduates of the M.D. program. All course/clerkship objectives are derived from the Graduation Competencies.

Each M.D. course has learning objectives. Learning objectives are specific, observable, and measurable expected outcomes that medical students are expected to attain in a course. Learning objectives in the clerkships and post-clerkship required courses are linked to the Graduation Competencies.

The reporting of a mistreatment Incident is available to all medical students, residents, and fellows. Click here to report any instances of mistreatment. Reports can be anonymously submitted.

The medical school faculty defines the types of patients and clinical conditions medical students are required to encounter, the skills to be performed by medical students, the appropriate clinical settings for these experiences, and the expected levels of medical student responsibility.
Clerkships and some post-clerkship courses require specific clinical experiences.
Course directors will provide the clinical experiences list for each required clinical course to all preceptors, including residents.
Medical students’ completion of clinical experiences is the responsibility of the course director.
