The International Parking and Mobility Institute (IPMI) awarded UC Davis Health with an Apex Award in the Sustainability Design category for Parking Structure 7 (PS7).

IPMI is the largest community for parking, transportation and mobility professionals in the world. The IPMI Awards recognize projects and programs that showcase creativity, innovation, sustainability and customer experience.

Shawn Conrad, IPMI CEO, said, “The 2026 Awards of Excellence winners set a new standard for excellence in our industry. Their dedication to innovation, efficiency and customer-focused experiences highlights the best of parking and mobility today.”

PS7 opened in August 2025, adding 1,250 employee parking spaces to the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento. From the outset, the PS7 team aligned around the University of California’s environmental goals, integrating strategies for energy performance, water conservation, air quality, waste reduction, transportation demand management and long-term durability.

Michael Godfrey, director of Parking, Transportation and Fleet Services, said, “With Parking Structure 7, we didn’t just want to add capacity; we wanted to redefine what a parking facility could contribute to a healthcare campus. This award recognizes our team’s success in blending high-level energy performance and water conservation with the daily logistical needs of our essential workforce.”

Kristina Bair, sustainability director, said, “We are proud to lead by example and demonstrate how healthcare campuses can contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable future by integrating a forward-thinking approach to design that prioritizes environmental responsibility, operational efficiency and the well-being of our community.”

This year’s award winners will be featured in the July/August issue of Parking & Mobility Magazine and will be honored in person at the 2026 IPMI Parking & Mobility Conference and Expo in June.
