May 13: Free cookies celebrating Hospital Week
In appreciation of our healthcare professionals and in celebration of Hospital Week, UC Davis Health leadership is pleased to distribute free salted chocolate chunk cookies from RED DOOR Desserts and Saint John's Program for Real Change in recognition of your dedication to providing exceptional patient care.
Cookies will be available on Wednesday, May 13 beginning at 11 a.m. at cafes across the main campus, including the Pavilion Café, ACC Café, Med Ed Scrubs Café, and the new Nourish Café at the 48X Complex. Additional cookies will also be available for the night shift at the Pavilion Café. Cookies are available while supplies last.
As in previous years, UC Davis Health proudly purchases these cookies from RED DOOR Desserts, a hands-on employment training program at Saint John’s Program for Real Change. These treats are made from scratch by formerly homeless women working hard toward self-sufficiency and breaking the cycle of poverty for themselves and their children. All of the proceeds of UC Davis Health's purchase directly support women and children working to build sustainable, independent lives.
Hospital Week, which highlights the essential roles of physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, volunteers, and administrators, runs from May 10–16, 2026. The celebration generally coincides with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, a social reformer, statistician, and founder of modern nursing.
Thank you for your service and for the vital role you play in our hospital and the communities we serve. Please enjoy your cookies next week.
