Dr. Maxine Umeh Garcia studies how cancer spreads to the brain and how tumor cells interact with the surrounding brain environment. Her research uses advanced molecular and imaging tools to understand how cancer cells communicate with brain and immune cells within metastatic tumors. She aims to identify biological signals that could help doctors detect brain metastases earlier and develop new treatments.
