Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis awards more than $492K in grants

Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at UC Davis has awarded nine grants, totaling $492,007, to clinicians and researchers at UC Davis Children’s Hospital.

Grants in the amount of $392,007 will enhance the clinical care of children, while $100,000 will support research directly improving the health and welfare of children.

CMN accepts clinical and research grant applications each fiscal year. Applications must demonstrate how the project or research contributes to UC Davis Health strategic goals and/or UC Davis Medical Center institutional goals. The amount of funding is determined by the CMN executive committee and chief executive officer of UC Davis Medical Center.

The 2026 clinical services grants include:

  • Otolaryngology Pediatric Tracheostomy Handbook: Adebola Olarewaju
  • Standardized New Patient Support Kits: Karenjit Dhillion
  • Strengthening Pediatric Discharge Safety Through Interdisciplinary Simulation Education: Kristine Strohbin
  • Pacifier Activated Lullaby Pilot Program: Antonia Barela
  • Sleep Sack Swaddle Blankets for the Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit: Carlye Miller and Tina Jagpal
  • Tracking Outcomes: Enrollment in the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium: Ryan Palapaz
  • Wraparound Program: Jennifer Rubin, Jennifer Fitzgerald, Chevist Johnson
  • Creating a Healing, Child-Centered Pediatric Surgery Clinic Environment: Ann Tompkins

The research grant was awarded to Maternal-Fetal Responses to Wildfire Particulate Matter in a Novel In-Vivo: Michelle Lim.
