Spina Bifida Clinic
UC Davis Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children of Northern California have one of the largest and well known Spina Bifida programs in the nation. Our multi-disciplinary clinic is staffed by renowned physicians and surgeons who have dedicated their academic and clinical careers to caring for children with spinal cord disorders. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive care for families from the prenatal period to adulthood.
The Spina Bifida program offers multi-disciplinary clinics including Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pediatric Urology, Pediatric Orthopaedics and Pediatric Neurosurgery at Shriners Hospital (SHC) in one comprehensive clinic. Each of these services also offers individual clinics at SHC and UC Davis. Clinics are staffed with social workers and nurses with expertise in spina bifida.
The Pediatric Urology program at UC Davis Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children have imaging services and urodynamic suites so patients can have x-rays, ultrasounds and urodynamics at one site and one visit. We are a leader in the nation in developing and providing reconstructive bladder and bowel surgery for children with neurogenic bowel and bladder disorders. We offer the most up-to-date minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopic and robotic assisted surgery.
