Nine UC Davis urologists named Top Doctors by Sactown Magazine

Nine urologists from UC Davis Health were named to Sactown Magazine's annual list of Top Doctors for 2026. The list celebrates the region's best doctors, which include Noah Canvasser, Yvonne Chan, Thenappan Chandrasekar, Kaitlan Cobb, Marc Dall’Era, Philip Hsiao, Eric Kurzrock, Jennifer Rothschild and Jared Whitson. Sactown Magazine's 2026 Top Doctors are selected by a peer-to-peer survey of local practitioners. Conducted by Professional Research Services (PRS), the survey's goal is to determine which doctors in a specific geographical area are considered outstanding by their peers.

UC Davis urologists Thenappan Chandrasekar, Marc Dall’Era and Philip Hsiao received a Diamond Doc Award for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. Marc Dall'Era named chair of the Department of Urologic Surgery

The UC Davis School of Medicine has appointed Marc Dall’Era, professor of clinical urology, as the permanent chair of the Department of Urologic Surgery. Dall’Era has been the interim chair since September 2023. He specializes in urinary tract cancers, with research focused on MRI-based prostate cancer detection and biomarker development. He leads multiple clinical trials for high-risk prostate cancer and has pioneered the use of high-intensity focused ultrasound in Sacramento for early-stage disease. See the announcement »
