Basic
science researcher appointed
Ronald
M. Wisdom, a physician-scientist with an interest in cancer genes,
has joined the faculty of the UC Davis School of Medicine and Medical
Center.
An
associate professor of hematology/oncology, he studies the biological
mechanisms of breast cancer. He is also interested in AP-1, a transcription
factor protein associated with limb development in humans.
Wisdom
received the American Cancer Society Junior Faculty Research Award
in 1994 and the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Research at Vanderbilt
University in 1995. In 1998, he was awarded the prestigious Established
Investigator Award of the American Heart Association. He is board
certified in internal medicine and hematology/oncology.
He
has two active grants studying signal transduction.
