An interactive multimedia computer program that provides personally tailored education in the user's preferred language will be tested to see if it increases the number of Hispanic patients who receive colorectal cancer screening. New funding will be used to refine and evaluate the program, which is designed to increase readiness and confidence for and reduce perceived barriers to cancer screening. Physicians Anthony Jerant and Peter Franks were inspired to develop the program after noticing that typical print approaches to encouraging cancer screening do not always work well.
