Tom Venturino has been named development officer for the UC
Davis Cancer Center. Venturino joined UC Davis
from Jesuit High School, where he served as development director for six years. He has been involved in
the not-for-profit sector in Sacramento for more than 15 years, including stints as executive director
of the UC Davis Chancellor's Club and of Big
Brothers/Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area. He is president of the Planned Giving Forum of Sacramento
and a member of the board of directors of the Sacramento Public Library Foundation.
Venturino is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and a past president of the group's
Sacramento chapter. He also belongs to the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Association
for Healthcare Philanthropy and the National Council on Planned Giving.
Venturino received his undergraduate degree in economics and English and master's in English, both from
UC Davis. He became a Certified Fund Raising Executive
in 1997. He and his wife live in Sacramento with their two children.
