Reason for Recognition: I would like to nominate Lourdes for the DAISY Award for her exceptional care and kindness during my stay at UC Davis Burn Unit. From the moment she was my nurse, Lourdes made me feel at ease and comfortable.

The night before my skin grafting procedure Lourdes went above and beyond to make sure I understood the process and treated me with such warmth and care. Her compassion helped ease my anxiety and made a challenging situation much more bearable. Not only did she provide excellent medical care, but she also took the time to listen to my concerns, address my needs, and offer emotional support. She was also my nurse the days following my procedure and made sure all my needs and concerns were met.

I am incredibly grateful for Lourdes’s dedication and the warmth she brought to my experience. She truly made a difference in my recovery, and I cannot thank her enough for her exceptional work.

From the moment Lourdes became my wife’s nurse, she went above and beyond to ensure my wife not only received excellent physical care but also felt emotionally supported. Her attentiveness, patience, and empathy during such a difficult time made a world of difference for our family. Lourdes went out of her way to personally care for my wife the night before her grafting surgery, helping to ease her anxiety. My wife was hospitalized for over 20 days, and Lourdes stood out among all the staff we interacted with.

Throughout our time at UC Davis, Lourdes consistently demonstrated professionalism, kindness, and a deep understanding of the challenges we were facing. Her actions are a true reflection of the values the DAISY Award celebrates, and I am deeply grateful for the role she played in my wife’s healing process.

It would be an honor if Lourdes were considered for this well-deserved recognition.
