Michael Condrin, M.B.A., is the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer for UC Davis Health. As Interim Chief Executive Officer, Condrin provides strategic leadership to ensure UC Davis Health’s mission and vision are reflected in both short-term priorities and long-range goals. He oversees financial performance, hospital and clinical operations, and system-wide initiatives that enhance efficiency, patient care outcomes, and organizational effectiveness. Through close collaboration with health system leaders, faculty, and staff, he fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, guiding UC Davis Health in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an evolving health care landscape.

As Chief Operating Officer, Condrin leads the execution of UC Davis Health’s vision and strategy across its growing clinical enterprise, including the medical center, cancer center, and an expanding network of multispecialty clinics, surgery centers, and outpatient services. He oversees all inpatient care, including UC Davis Medical Center and UC Davis Children’s Hospital, ensuring operational excellence in acute and intensive care, trauma and emergency services, surgery, and post-operative care. Additionally, he is responsible for the health system’s logistical, patient-support, facility, and supply chain operations while fostering strong partnerships with the School of Medicine, the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, and the university. With a commitment to enhancing both patient experience and workforce engagement, he drives initiatives that support a high-performing, patient-centered health system.

Condrin joined UC Davis Health in 2002 and has played a pivotal role in expanding and transforming its ambulatory care services. As the former Chief Operating Officer for Ambulatory Care, he oversaw the growth and operational management of 74 clinics across 32 locations throughout the region. Under his leadership, UC Davis Health significantly expanded its telehealth capabilities, improving access to care for patients across Northern California. He also spearheaded the launch of the Patient Contact Center, enhancing coordination and responsiveness in patient communications. His leadership was instrumental in the opening of the Ernest E. Tschannen Eye Institute and the Edwards Family Athletic Center for sports medicine, as well as the planning and development of key infrastructure projects, including the 48X Complex, the upcoming ambulatory surgery center, and the Folsom Medical Office Building.

Throughout his tenure, Condrin has held multiple leadership roles that have contributed to UC Davis Health’s success, including Executive Director for UC Davis Health Network and Affiliates, Director of Clinical Operations, and Assistant Dean of Administration in the School of Medicine. He earned a bachelor’s in physiological sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles, a Master of Science in physical therapy from Boston University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management. His leadership continues to drive UC Davis Health’s mission of delivering tomorrow’s health care today, advancing medical education, and fostering innovation in health care.
