Philosophy of Care

Dr. Tirumala practices medicine as a holistic, collaborative, team effort with the patient, their caregivers and other members of the healthcare team. He is attentive and listens to the patient and involves them in every aspect of the management of their conditions. He is very approachable and has very clear communication throughout the process. He uses his years of experience and comprehensive education to provide the best pulmonary care to the patient. He ensures that the patient is always informed and is an active participant in their journey towards healing. 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Tirumala is a pulmonologist with over 25 years of experience in the field of medicine. He is fellowship trained in pulmonary and critical care specialties and is dual board certified. He has extensive experience in the management of various pulmonary conditions including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary hypertension, lung nodules and other lung conditions in adults. He has worked closely with multiple health care systems and is very well versed in patient centric systems based practice.  

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Tirumala focuses on all aspects of pulmonary diseases in adults. He loves teaching and is an active preceptor with the UC Davis School of Medicine
