The goal of the Research Administration and Support (RAS) Unit is to assist investigators and grant specialists with creating and maintaining successful research programs. This includes, navigating the complex research processes within the UC Davis/UC Davis Health campuses, the department and extramural funding agencies.
Service Request
The RAS Unit provides guidance and assistance to investigators and staff in the following areas:
- Pre-Award Support
- Provide direction and/or training on how to initiate and process a grant application
- Assist with the preparation of budgets
- Provide grant writing and editing resources
- Provide guidance and tips for formatting scientific figures, forms, and tables
- Provide eRA Commons training
- Create accounts and setup/update profiles
- Just-In-Time (JIT) requests
- Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR)
- Anticipate and reconcile pre- and post-award conflicts
- Provide cross-coverage amongst grant specialists
Develop and Organize Research Activities and Resources
- Research seminars, symposiums and focus groups
- Grant Review Program (PDF)
- Internal faculty and trainee research awards
- Research committee activities
- Internal and external research websites
- Aid in the search of available funding opportunities for specific research area(s) of interest and maintain funding opportunity listserve
- Track research grant and contract data
- Serve as a resource for all research needs
