Clinical Interests
Dr. Ansari is an immunologist with > 50 years of experience. He has worked on Autoimmune diseases, transplantation immunology and Infectious diseases. He is an author of >750 peer reviewed journal articles and has trained > 10 pre-doctoral and > 50 post doctoral students during his careeer.
Research/Academic Interests
Dr. Ansari is focused on attempts to define the mechanisms of autoimmune based primary sclerosing chalngitis and other autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crhon's disease. He is also actively involved in trying to determine the mechanisms of pathogenesis of HIV infection primarily using the SIV infected nonhuman primate model of HIV. He has also continued hus efforts in trying to define the basis of human peripartum cardiomyopathy.
