Dr. Carroll Cross is an academic clinician with expertise in pulmonary medicine and physiology with a focus on cystic fibrosis and congenital emphysema. He is aggressive about facilitating the challenges inherent in successfully translating the latest relevant aspects of laboratory research to clinical medicine, patient management, and health.
Dr. Carroll Cross is a medical scientist with a particular interest and expertise in lung biology and medicine, focusing on Cystic Fibrosis and congenital emphysema (alpha-2 antitrypsin deficiency). He finds it particularly rewarding to stay up to date regarding the latest laboratory and clinical studies related to these conditions. He passionately attempts to participate in research aspects of the diseases he cares for in the clinic.
Dr. Carroll Cross's past research interests focused on selected aspects of pulmonary physiology ad free radical biology and medicine. His more recent research contributions relate to cystic fibrosis and congenital emphysema communities. His most recent research activities are related to liason with the outstanding UC Davis chemical engineering and plant genetics "Planta Pharma" program to develop plant production of human alpha-1 antitrypsin for the treatment of congenital emphysema.
