Microsoft 365 Migration update – final call for email migrations

(SACRAMENTO)

The Microsoft 365 (M365) Migration project is entering its final phase. Beginning September 18, the migration team will start removing Campus M365 licenses for staff who have already transitioned to the Health tenant. After this date, it will no longer be possible to migrate accounts from Campus to Health.

What this means for you

Once your Campus M365 license is removed, you will no longer be able to log in to Microsoft applications using your Campus credentials (username@ucdavis.edu). This includes:

  • Exchange Online (Outlook)
    • Note: Your @ucdavis.edu email will continue to forward automatically to your @health.ucdavis.edu inbox.
  • Microsoft Teams
  • SharePoint Online
  • OneDrive for Business
  • Microsoft 365 Apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Microsoft Planner
  • Microsoft Project
  • Microsoft Visio
  • Microsoft Forms
  • Microsoft Stream
  • Microsoft Bookings
  • Microsoft Applications (other)
  • WebEx

All of these applications are now fully supported through your Health credentials (username@health.ucdavis.edu). Please be sure to use your Health login for access moving forward.

  • Note: If you are using your “Campus Account” for applications outside of the M365 applications listed above, you will continue to use it (example: Aggie Travel, LMS, and UC Path).

What to expect

When your Campus mailbox license is removed, you may receive the following email. You can ignore this email, as this is turning off a feature enabled by the Campus license. It does not affect your Health email account.

You may also see a triangle at the top of your Teams if you have your Campus and Health accounts added. When you click the triangle, you will see this pop-up. Click “Switch to another account.” It will then remove your campus account from your Teams.

For staff who have not yet migrated

If your account has not yet been moved to the Health tenant, this is the final reminder to submit your request. To be migrated, you must submit a ServiceNow ticket by September 17.
