Construction activity: Underground utility work at 2nd Avenue and 48th Street

Monday, March 23, through Wednesday, April 22, the Central Utility Plant expansion (CUPx) team will perform underground utility work at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 48th Street, resulting in a slight shift to east and west bound traffic.

Please note the following details of the activity:

• Phase 1 (Monday, March 23, through Tuesday, April 7): Partial closure of the 2nd Avenue eastbound lane at 48th Street. East and west bound lanes will shift north with the use of delineators.

• Phase 2 (Thursday, April 8, through Wednesday, April 22): Partial closure of the 2nd Avenue westbound lane at 48th Street. East and west bound lanes will shift south with the use of delineators.

• Bicyclists will merge with vehicular traffic.

• Flaggers will be in place to assist.

• All crosswalks remain open.
