Celebrating Radiologic Technology Week 2025: 'The Kaleidoscope of Radiologic Technology'

(SACRAMENTO)

Nov. 2-8 marks Radiologic Technology Week, a time each November to honor the discovery of the X-ray and the critical contributions of the UC Davis Health radiology team.

Staff will be celebrated across all radiology locations–including the main hospital, ACC and ambulatory clinics–with gifts, snacks, and fun contests, with over a hundred prizes available throughout the week.

This year’s theme, “The Kaleidoscope of Radiologic Technology,” highlights the many roles, specialties, and talents that come together to form the vibrant field of medical imaging. Like the shifting patterns in a kaleidoscope, the collaboration, precision, and expertise of our technologists reflect the beauty and complexity of modern healthcare.

“Behind every image is a story of care, precision, and dedication,” said Stephen Wetzel, interim executive director for the Department of Radiology. “This Radiology Week, we celebrate the radiology professionals whose expertise helps bring clarity to care and healing to every patient.”

“Radiology is truly a team effort, and our staff and technologists are essential to everything we do,” said Elizabeth Morris, chair of the Department of Radiology. “Their expertise, teamwork, and dedication are the foundation of the exceptional imaging care we provide at UC Davis Health. Nearly all modern medical care extends from the reading of medical images—and it all begins with the skilled hands of our technologists.”

Throughout the week, daily announcements and posters will spotlight UC Davis Health staff and their contributions. Please join in celebrating the extraordinary technologists whose work provides the insight and innovation that defines UC Davis Health’s commitment to exceptional patient care.
