The Office of Student and Resident Diversity (OSRD) would not be able to achieve its mission of creating a space of inclusion and respect, and to recruit and foster the development of a diverse physician workforce without the collaboration and support of our wonderful partners.  

K-12 Program Partnerships

Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP)
EAOP has the goal of preparing students at underserved schools for college, the workforce, to complete all UC and CSU admissions requirements, and apply for financial aid.  We are very grateful for EAOP's support in recruitment and the sessions they offer students during the OSRD Health Equity Academy.

Educational Talent Search Program (ETS)
ETS provides academic, career and financial counseling to their participants with the goal of encouraging high school graduation and the attainment of higher education.  We are very grateful for ETS' support in recruitment and the sessions that they offer students for our HEALTH Academy Program.

Decision Medicine
Decision Medicine is a 2-week summer program created by the San Joaquin Medical Society to encourage high achieving, underprivileged and under-represented students to consider a career in medicine with the future intensions of serving their community.  Every summer OSRD hosts the Decision program participants for a half day interactive program at the UC Davis School of Medicine.

KP Launch
Kaiser Permanente's KP LAUNCH program provides young adults the opportunity of paid internships at their Oakland headquarters and administrative offices, as well as medical offices across northern California.  Every summer OSRD hosts the KP Launch program participants for a half day interactive program at the UC Davis School of Medicine.

Summer Mathematics and Science Honors Academy (SMASH)
UC Davis' SMASH program is a free, three-year, STEM intensive-residential college prep-program that creates a wonderful opportunity for OSRD's K-12 pathway programs.  We are proud to partner with SMASH and to be one of the universities that offers this opportunity for students from lower income and disadvantaged backgrounds who will be the first in their families to attend college.

Yes2Kollege
Yes2Kollege provides African American students and parents with 'real-time' education tools and resources to live a healthy and productive life while successfully aspiring to higher education opportunities and careers.  Every summer we host participants from the Minority Health Professions Mentor Program (MHPMP) Summer Job Shadow Experience and support the Annual Minority Health Professions Mentor Program (MHPMP) Conference.

Undergraduate Program Partnerships

CSU Sacramento Science Educational Equity Program (SEE)
Sacramento State University's SEE Program promotes access to quality care in underserved communities and fosters inclusion of diverse perspectives in science research and education.  We are proud to partner with the SEE Program in the recruitment and admission process for the Medical School Preparatory Enhancement Program (MSPEP), open to CSUS and UCD junior and seniors.

Health Professions Advising (HPA)
HPA serves UC Davis undergraduates, graduate students and alumni pursing any health profession or allied health field.  We are proud to collaborate with HPA for the Pre-Med Symposium held at UC Davis School of Medicine and to sponsor, present and table at their annual UCD Pre-Health Conference.

MiMentor
As a national mentoring organizing, MiMentor creates opportunities for inclusive mentorship with the goal of inspiring the next generation of diverse healthcare leaders for underserved communities.  OSRD is proud to partner with MiMentor of Northern California as the financial sponsor for the MiMentor App and the Medical School Ready series.

The California Wellness Foundation (Cal Wellness)
Hosted within OSRD, the MCAT Preparatory Scholarship Program and the UC Postbaccalaureate Consortium are funded by a grant from The California Wellness Foundation (Cal Wellness).  Created in 1992 as a private independent foundation, Cal Wellness' mission is to improve the health of the people in California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention.

CA Postbaccalaureate Consortium Partnerships

Residency Program Partnerships

Physicians Medical Forum (PMF)
The main purpose of PMF is to encourage the recruitment and retention of African-American and underrepresented physicians, and the betterment of health care for people in Northern California.  We are proud partners and grateful to collaborate alongside PMF with our Visiting Elective Program.

Capitol Medical Society (CMS)
CMS is the local affiliate of the National Medical Association.  The CMS have been great partners through their collaborations with the Office of Student and Resident Diversity and the Student National Medical Association.

Resident Medical Staff Committee (RMSC) 

RMSC is a resident-led committee in partnership with Graduate Medical Education and Patient Care Services to review and develop residency and patient care policies and initiatives. OSRD collaborates with the committee’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer to support diversity and equity initiatives for residents.

Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement (DICE) 

DICE is a resident- and faculty-led committee in the UC Davis Department of Internal Medicine dedicated to expanding care to underserved communities in greater Sacramento, and to diversifying the physician workforce.

Black Resident Organization (BRO) 

BRO is a group for residents who identify as Black, African American, or part of the African Diaspora. This group organizes regular mentorship dinners with medical students and helps to recruit Black residency applicants to UC Davis.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in Emergency Medicine Committee 

The UC Davis Department of Emergency Medicine manages a Visiting Underrepresented Student Program for visiting fourth-year medical students to participate in an Acting Internship in emergency medicine with financial support and mentoring from current residents and faculty.
