Our Partnerships
We partner with clinical experts to provide training that is relevant, leading-edge and stays ahead of evolving demands in health. Over the years, our strategic partnerships have produced essential training which continues to contribute to building strong healthcare communities in the Sacramento area as well as across the country. We are proud to jointly certify coursework in collaboration with national organizations, with subjects including quality improvement and various population health topics.
In 2019, the Office of Continuing Medical Education was awarded to be the provider of interprofessional Maintenance of Certification (MOC) coursework nationally for the Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Patient Safety Network.
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the safety and quality of America's health care system. AHRQ develops the knowledge, tools, and data needed to improve the health care system and help Americans, health care professionals, and policymakers make informed health decisions.
We work with state-level organizations to keep abreast of current educational needs, identify topic areas of particular importance to the state and provide education that may positively impact population health.
Our work with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has produced critical coursework available to clinicians throughout California addressing pressing issues impacting population health. Some of these topics include childhood lead poisoning, tobacco cessation, and more.
By partnering with regional experts, we have made significant contributions to public health concerns affecting our community and the country. The recently published Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) series, developed in partnership with UC Davis Health Department of Emergency Medicine’s James Chenoweth, M.D., M.A.S. and California Bridge, offers training designed to help transform hospitals and emergency rooms into primary access points for addiction treatment.
The California Bridge statewide clinical training program provides training and technical assistance to acute care providers to encourage patients to enter and remain in treatment, ultimately saving lives.
Because our program is located within an academic health system, we are uniquely qualified to support and influence the continuum of educational activities of physicians from post-baccalaureate to clinical practice.
We partner with faculty and departments within UC Davis Health to design, develop and deliver critical education for clinicians. Our joint efforts have produced training in fields including hospital medicine, pediatric care, quality improvement and wellness.
A Partnership Making an Impact
Hear from Alan Yee, D.O. as he reflects on Interprofessional Neurologic Educational Learning (PINECLE) Program. PINECLE was developed in partnership with faculty experts in the Department of Neurology, Emergency Medicine, Nursing and the Office of Continuing Medical Education.
The series educates clinicians on the neurological exam and stroke care, and also contributed to UC Davis Health gaining comprehensive stroke status.
