Brought to you by the child life team, this list includes resources and programs available to further support patients and families. Some items/programs are free of charge, while others have costs. Please reach out to the specific organization if you have any questions about what they offer.

    Dolls/toys (adaptive and diagnosis specific)

    • The Butterfly Pig: Specialized dolls and accessories that focus on the values of self-love, respect for diversity, and inclusion of all.
    • Desi Strong Foundation: For oncology patients, a free doll with a removable port.
    • A Doll Like Me: Custom made dolls to look exactly like the child (e.g., birth marks, limb differences, etc.).
    • Gabe's Chemo Duck Program: Chemo Duck is a soft, cuddly companion that provides huggable hope and aims to alleviate fears and anxiety.
    • My Chemo Fairy: My Chemo Fairy helps start an important conversation while also adding a magical and fun twist.
    • NorCal Trykers: Custom, adaptable tricycles made to provide mobility to children with physical and/or cognitive needs.

    Camps

    • Camp Kesem (Children of Parents with an Oncology Diagnosis): Camp Kesem is a free, week-long overnight summer camp experience for children who are affected by a parent's cancer diagnosis.
    • Painted Turtle (Multiple diagnoses): The Painted Turtle is more than a camp, it's a place where children with serious medical conditions can just be kids.
    • Camp Okizu (Oncology): Camp Okizu offers multiple medically supervised overnight camp programs throughout the year for oncology patients, their siblings, and entire families.
    • Diabetes Youth Families (DYF) (Diabetes): DYF programs provide a safe environment where kids can just be kids. At camp, EVERYONE GETS IT! Camp creates a community of resilient heroes that are all facing this condition together.
    • California Diabetes Association/Nevada Diabetes Association (Diabetes): Offers camps, diabetes support programs, seminars, workshops, printed and electronic resources, emergency diabetes medical assistance and advocacy.

    Hair loss/wigs

    • Wigs for Kids: Wigs For Kids helps children suffering from hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns, and other medical causes.
    • Hair We Share: Hair We Share relies solely on donations, in the form of real-hair ponytails and monetary contributions. The donations provide hair solutions at no cost to children and adults throughout the USA.

    • Amanda Hope – Comfy Cozy: Shirts with options for zippers and buttons that allow children and teens to get to their central line without having to remove or lift the shirt.
    • Zip With Us: Regular and graphic T-shirts with zippers that allow children and teens to access their central line without removing or lifting their shirt.
    • C&S Ostomy Pouch Covers: Designed covers for ostomy bags.
