Their
mission: Making a difference
Two
women. Two experiences with cancer. One determination to have an
impact.
Ester
Armstrong and Suzanne Demas came to their commitments to fight cancer
from different routes, but they are united in their passion to give
something back to a world which they feel has given them abundant
blessings.
Towards
that end, the duo are co-chairs of the Regional Development Leaders,
the grass roots, community-based arm of the cancer center's development
efforts. These energetic volunteers do most of the hands-on fundraising,
event planning, and outreach to other volunteers in northern and
central California.
The
group was organized in 1998 and works in collaboration with the
staff of the UC Davis Medical Center Health Sciences Advancement
office and the Cancer Center Executive Board of Advisors, a group
of business and community leaders who guide, advise and review the
cancer program.
