Why UC Davis? I chose UC Davis because I wanted a broad exposure to multiple facets of PM&R, but also the opportunity to engage and excel within my personal interests of sports and pediatrics. Moreover, I appreciated UC Davis for the supportive faculty and culture of camaraderie amongst residents. For me, UC Davis was the perfect blend between academic excellence and mental well-being. Outside of medicine, I love the easy access that Sacramento has to outdoor wonders (beach, Tahoe, Yosemite) and proximity to my family. Sacramento also houses an extremely diverse patient population and a large Sikh community. This was very important for my personal goal to serve the community (seva) outside of a purely medical capacity through efforts in advocacy for populations in need.
