The story highlights the Barbershop Health Talks the two established through the Capitol City Black Nurses Association and the Greater New York Black Nurses Association. The health talks seek to meet Black men where they are comfortable – in the barber shop. The idea was born through Carter’s thesis work at the School of Nursing. Carter is a 2019 graduate of the master’s-degree leadership program and Aron is a 2021 graduate of the leadership program.
